The historic city of Santiago de Compostela, a symbol of encounter, reflection, and shared knowledge, and for centuries a space for cultural and scientific exchange, will host the XLII National Conference on Statistics, Operations Research and Data Science, to be held from the 2nd to the 5th of September, 2026.
In an era marked by artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and global sustainability challenges, Statistics, Operations Research, and Data Science play a crucial role in understanding uncertainty, optimizing resources, and supporting informed decision-making. The integration of new methodologies, the development of predictive models, and the combination of classical tools with advanced computational techniques place us before a landscape full of opportunities for scientific and social innovation.
This Congress is conceived as a privileged meeting point, open to society and the business community, where academics, researchers, and professionals can share progress, ideas, and experiences in all areas of both disciplines. Santiago, a city of encounter and knowledge, provides the ideal setting to strengthen ties, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and reflect on the future of data science and optimization.
The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee invite everyone interested in Statistics, Operations Research and Data Science, whether from academia, public administration, or the private sector, to participate in the Congress. We encourage you to present your most recent methodological and applied work and to contribute to the scientific and technical debate that drives the progress of our society.
We look forward to welcoming you to Santiago de Compostela at SEIO 2026!
The Organizing Committee,
SEIO 2026
