Some medical treatments, specially in tumor-related medicine, employ high toxic drugs. They are needed for specific targets, and the goal is to attack the damaged issue in a extremely short period of time. However, the side effects are that, after the ingestion, the toxic substance remains in the body for some time, and the patient should be tested several times till the toxicity observed is below a certain threshold. These tests (usually blood samples) entail different costs (economic, medical, temporal) and suffering to the patients, thus it would be very convenient to reduce their number. This can be done in first place by fitting a right model to describe the toxicity clearance, and then choosing the optimal sampling times (the most informative ones) using this model. In this work, the study will be applied to a specific chemotherapy treatment employing simulation strategies.
